“Solitude is the path over which destiny endeavors to lead man to himself”
Herman Hesse

Welcome to the existential rhapsody by Rustam Mirzoev – the master of grey shades, whose refined artistry brightly highlights contemporary Ukraine on the world’s cultural map.

His new collection of masterpieces titled “Ash” explores the notion of solitude in its entirety of senses.
The author underlines the possibility to extract the deepest insights about the nature of human existence out of the most routine situations, making the counterpoint to the grey oil palette with the tiny radiant stones attached to the canvases.

The bitter side of our journey through the desert of reality is that it has to end someday. The better side of it is that when we have to face the silent questions from the abyss of non-existence, the mirages of our illusions disappear and we become able to see where we really are.

When we find ourselves in solitude, facing our real selves, with it comes the understanding of life as an experience of the limitations imposed by matter on mind, which in its turn is creating this matter with the power of a thought.

The physical aspect of our existence is just some ash remaining from the fire of thought. And this power can give a magnificent form even to ash. Just like in this case. Enjoy!
