LIGHT-BOX GALLERY

Do not visit the contemporary art exhibitions!"
It is a main motto of "The saint George and the Dragon project" from the gallery "Tzeh" and "UkrLogic"

In November 2007 gallery "Tzeh "together with" UkrLogic start The Saint George and the dragon project, that combines an advertisement instruments, pr-techniques and also media methods with the tradition of classical oil painting. A new exhibition space is discovered - The Light Box Gallery, where light box, with its primary function of being an ad carrier, becomes a high-tech display, which broadcasts image 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with a high-resolution quality. The Light Box Gallery positioned like a universal way of presenting an elitist art to the mass audience, but for all that keeping its primordial practical function of commercial advertisement holder.

This event is highly profiled as a worldwide move into opening the largest exhibition space ever.
The body of the project is "The Saint George and the dragon" painting. In one hand, it is an original author artwork (oil, canvas), that has on its basis a real iconography "The St.George a dragon fighter". In the other hand, it is an unlimited printed edition from this exclusive painting that set into the light box, which is identical in size to the original image and its copies that signed by an author.
Moreover, the objects represented with an original painting together transmit main characteristics to each other and have the equal meaning of being an advertisement poster on its own place and an elitist object with a cultural and aesthetic value.
An out-of-time structure of the dual pairs of social and individual, of commercial and exclusive causes one of the principles of an urgent art when we do not change the object's sense but change its meaning. A question to be or not to be is solved be an Adequate Modernism. Ad Modern as an Advertisement, Addiction and Adequate in full use- a glow of semantic equivalents and ambivalence of signs. We keep an eye on a new form of art coming-to-be - a cineprintography- that is by the quantity of onlookers is close to cinematography, and is available for everyone.

- In addition, why "do not go to the contemporary art exhibitions?"
- The contemporary art came to you in the form of The Light Box Gallery. Moreover, the position of gallery attendant in "Tzeh" gallery (Kiev) identical to the "pass by-onlooker" in the Light Box gallery (Kiev, London, Moscow, New York- any place where light boxes are set). Because the further exposition in the "Tzeh" gallery will be set due to the principles of an Adequate modernism and contain the same light boxes as a Light Box Gallery on the city streets.
A contemporary art language may be hard to understand, but as said, "It pays the bills".
