Tsekh gallery continues to open new names in Ukrainian arts industry and presents the first personal project of Sergey Oleksyuk, the student of Danil Leader, famous scenographer, titled “Space VS Plane”. What should be noted is the fact that the artist originally comes from the Western Ukraine, it means that gallery displays the works of artists from all over the country.

The starting point of Oleksyuk oeuvre is his experience: the artist had visited and worked in the East and the West. That is why five installations that constitute the body of the project are absolutely eclectic in their technical and esthetic forms. All the displays were hand made by the artist, which is quite unique for the whole world and Ukraine in particular. At the other side Sergey has to summarize the experience gained and find his own style.  The conceptual vision of Oleksyuk as an artist is reflected in the title of the exhibition.  In future he is going to work with the space creating new showpieces.

Sergey is highly likely to establish himself in Ukrainian arts industry due to the fact that it is quite hard to find an artist, dealing with installations so painstakingly.  Luckily, Tsekh gallery provides truly gifted artists with a carte blanche. This obeisance to the gallery is pretty justified as far as it is not the first installation displayed in Tsekh gallery and the Oleksyuk’s forerunners were quite popular among public.
